Nymph Earrings

$118.00

Handmade and one of a kind earrings.

Gold-fill and white Keshi Pearl

Dentallium shells

14k gold-fill ear wires

Approximately 3.5” length ( these shells are all slightly unique but will still have similar length and slight color variations.)

Beautiful @weaving.the.rainbow modeling the nymph earrings 🧜‍♀️ made from dentalium shells, Keshi pearls and gold. I’ve been making these for years now, but usually only have them at shows. So excited to now offer them in my shop ( starting this Tuesday ✨)

Dentalium shells (also known as tusk shells) can be found along our western Pacific coastline 🌊 They are often white, but my favorite are these natural soft green color.

They originally belong to a type of mollusk who live in the long narrow shell ( see photo for example 👀)

Native Americans have used them for as far back as 6,000 years ago in intricate beading designs, collar necklaces and beaded capes ( swipe to see some examples). And continue to make incredible artwork with them.

It’s an honor to use Earth’s treasures, shells and stones, in my jewelry. I love continuing the tradition of adorning ourselves with and celebrating the natural world 🐋
